Natural Systems 101

What are Natural Systems?
  • They are wastewater treatment or disposal systems that strategically take advantage of and leverage the ability of natural processes, such as solar radiation, evaporation, evapotranspiration (ET), wind movement, plants, and biological activity.
  • They are GREEN, sustainable technologies that provide a new perspective to liquid waste management.
  • They reduce your carbon footprint and remove tanker trucks (i.e. wear on local roads, diesel not burned, liability).
  • They establish excellent public relations opportunities and significantly reduce costs and financial assurance premiums.
  • They potentially provide a zero discharge solution.
  • They include national award winning technologies and are applicable to a wide range of industries.
  • They are a WINWINWIN solution for the environment, industry, and community.
What are they not?
  • They are not highly mechanical systems that require complicated, time-consuming O&M or costly fuel to operate.
  • They are not dependent on WWTPs (i.e. changing discharge limits, price increases, and possibility of getting cut off because of UV disinfection concerns).
  • They do not rely on off-site hauling and tanker trucks driving through your community.

Natural Systems trade space for “energy” (i.e. electricity, chemicals, man power, transport trucks, mechanical complexity, and O&M) to greatly reduce costs and environmental impact.
