LMS recently received approval from the Kentucky DEP to install and operate a Wind Aided Intensified eVaporation system to dispose of leachate at a landfill in the state. WAIV is an innovative technology originally used in the global desalination industry that strategically uses wind energy to evaporate large amounts of landfill leachate and industrial wastewater. […]
Leachate Management Specialists was invited to speak at the Global Waste Management Symposium (GWMS) being held in California in February 2018. LMS will be presenting a case study of how WCA Waste Corporation avoided permanent cut off from a local wastewater treatment plant through effective communication and technical support for strong H2S odors in leachate. […]
LMS is pleased to bring a new hybrid poplar phyto-utilization system to the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County Illinois. This sustainable and cost-saving technology will benefit the environment and the community. It is a privilege working with the whole project team. Check out this linked Chicago Tribune article to learn about the project!
This past summer, LMS and WCA Waste Corporation installed a 4.7-acre leachate phyto-utilization system using vetiver grass at WCA’s Fort Bend Regional Landfill in southeast Texas. The system is designed to pump leachate generated from the municipal waste landfill to the phyto field where it is distributed to more than 65,000 vetiver plants. The plants […]
LMS recently received approval from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for a vetiver phyto-utilization system at a construction and demolition landfill in central Florida. This is the first of its kind to be permitted in the state. The system is scheduled to be installed next year.
In July 2017, Brad Granley from LMS was invited to speak about the WAIV wind evaporation system at an international conference focused on environmental and wastewater technologies in Shanghai, China. Attendees of the Conference of Anhui Environmental Technology Industrial Park were from governmental agencies and private industry. Brad spoke about how WAIV works and the […]
One of the leading international solid waste magazines Waste360 recently discussed LMS and the WAIV wind evaporation system in an article about new methods for leachate management. The magazine included LMS as an example of an entrepreneur “developing new methods aimed at cutting costs and increasing effectiveness upon traditional methods.” Check it out at: http://www.waste360.com/leachate/dealing-omnipresent-challenge-leachate-management. Brad Granley from […]
In February, Brad Granley, Founder and President of LMS, was invited to speak to USEPA Region 3 Hazardous Sites Cleanup Division employees in Philadelphia about using Natural Systems for remediation projects. He discussed how phytoremediation can benefit a variety of contaminated sites as well as the options available for on-site disposal of wastewater and impacted groundwater. He introduced natural […]
LMS recently presented its phyto-utilization and WAIV evaporation systems at state solid waste conferences in Florida, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Brad Granley of LMS spoke about the natural systems at the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) state conferences in Florida and Oklahoma. For the Florida conference, LMS was invited to speak about WAIV in a session entitled “Landfill […]
Leachate Management Specialists LLC (LMS) has recently entered into an exclusive agreement with Lesico CleanTech and can now offer an exciting new enhanced evaporation technology in the US. WAIV, or Wind Aided Intensified eVaporation, utilizes wind to reduce large volumes of liquid waste through high density surface area within a small footprint. Originally developed for desalination brine, the technology […]
